An Act further to amend the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1964.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Forty second Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1991.
2. Amendment of section 2.- In the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1964 (Act 7 of 1964), (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in-section 2, clauses (j-i), (j-ii), (k-i) and clause (u) shall be omitted.
3. Amendment of section 21-A.- In section 21-A of the principal Act, sub-section (1A) shall be omitted.
4. Omission of Section 21-A.- Section 21C of the principal Act, shall be omitted.
5. Amendment of Section 31.- In section 31 of the principal Act,-
(i) in sub-section (1), in clause (a), after the second proviso, the following proviso shall be added, namely:-
"Provided also that two women members shall be nominated by the Registrar to the Committee of such class of societies and in such manner as may be prescribed from among the women members of the general body of such societies. Such nominated Women members shall, notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, have the right to vote and otherwise to take part in the proceedings of the meetings of the Committee."
(ii) sub-section (5) shall be omitted.
6. Repeal of Ordinance 10 of 1990 and ordinance 5 of 1991.- The Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 1990 and the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative societies (Amendment) Ordinance, 1991 are hereby repealed.
